Judy you're wonderful but I have to take issue here...

Judy Andreas is a woman of Jewish descent who has come to many important realizations about Judaism and Zionism and she has shared them with good effect with many people on her website and through other venues. I saw her essay "Eyes To See" and was immediately drawn in because she spoke of something familiar to me as a child protective worker; and that is the special treatment given to Jewish people when it come to The City doling out goodies or violating people's rights. I doubt you could find one American Jew on Rikers Island today there for drug possession. If I am wrong I am not wrong by a factor of many, and that shows the skewedness of municipal governance here in Mike Bloomberg's Big Apple.

I was quite taken aback though by her praise for David Duke and her spreading of his usual alibi, that he has not been a Klan (of Nazi Party) member for well nigh thirty years or more. Now maybe, as Judy says, Duke differentiates among Jews and maybe he even differentiates among Blacks, though on this matter she is silent. The fact is though that Duke made a decision long ago that the white sheets, mask and burning crosses as well as the swastika were not going to sell well in the United States, nor would racist phraseology. Duke set on a makeover that included facial plastic surgery to erase his old image. The key word here is "image."

Even if David Duke were to call me his brother I would not take his hand as one. Why? David Duke spreads viscious propaganda that helps enable the continuing genocide in the United States of Black America. Giving the devil his due Duke says he opposes the Iraq war. Good for him. Everyone ought to oppose the Iraq war. Duke is poison to Black Americans and to the immigrant workers in the United States, the true Palestinians of North America. Duke is little more in this regard than a running dog of Mort Zuckerman. I took issue with Israel Shamir about this guy Duke and what I said then remains valid today:

More than two months ago, following the cartoon scandal and the

outrage of the Muslim world that ensued, a group of Israelis announced

their own anti-Jewish cartoons contest (http://www.boomka.org/)./). At

the time, they received very wide coverage in the Israeli media and

Jewish supportive press around the world. At the end of the day, the

Israelis in particular, and Jews in general, insist on being `seen' as

open-minded beings, people who can easily handle self-mockery.



The contest is now over. More than a few cartoons were submitted from

around the world, many of them made by Jews and Israelis. Most of the

cartoons are hilariously vicious, but how can one put it, the Jewish

and the Israeli media are now far less enthusiastic about the entire

issue of self-mockery. Two out of the four jurists (Art Spiegelman and

Amos Biderman) were quick to distance themselves from the contest,

dismissing the submissions as disappointing, low quality work. While

Spiegelman suggested that the cartoons were "frightening for being too

real, lack any sense of irony, and look very much like genuine

Anti-Semitic cartoons," Biderman insisted that the illustrations are

not funny at all and fall into the category of "letting the shit hit

the fan." "We don't think this is the right way," said a spokesman

for the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem. The Simon Wiesenthal

Center dismissed the contest as "gallows humor." Once it was clear

what the imagery of the cartoons might suggest, Israeli mainstream

press imposed upon itself a complete silence. It is rather clear that

the artists who sent in their cartoons have something to say about the

devastating Jewish reality, something that Israeli and Jewish media

would prefer to brush under the carpet. As it seems, the two artists

behind the contest (Eyal Zusman and Amitai Sandi) were abandoned. The

Israelis and the Jewish media failed miserably in the 'self- mockery

exam'.



In an article named `Kosher Anti-Semites', Henryk M. Broder, a German

and a devoted supporter of Israel, offered an insight into the content

of the Israeli Anti-Semitic Cartoons Contest. "In the past," says

Broder, "there were Jewish anti-Semites like Karl Marx, Otto Weininger

and Karl Kraus, yet they were all operating as individuals, not as a

collective. Nowadays," Broder concludes, "this could change."

Indeed, Mr Broder is absolutely correct, this could change, in fact,

it has already changed. In an era in which Jews celebrate their

symptoms collectively, as well as violently, it is rather natural that

a few Jews who happen to be ethically motivated and talented enough to

express themselves would raise their voices. Seemingly, the morally

deteriorated conduct of the Jewish state and its supportive Jewish

lobbies around the world push some Jews towards some manifestations of

collective self-hate. The Israeli Anti-Semitic Cartoons Contest has

illustrated, with a real collection of `Kosher anti-Semitism', a

celebration of what I tend to define as `proud Jewish self-hatred'.



Yet, it is rather possible as well that Mr Broder was quick to pass

judgment over the cartoonists. It may as well be possible that at

least some of the artists do not stand behind the message their

cartoons may portray. I assume that, at least hypothetically, a

Zionist such as Broder himself is more than capable of portraying a

caricature of Jews that can be considered to be anti-Semitic.



It is crucial to suggest the following necessary criticism. Rather

clearly, for most of the cartoons, the Orthodox Jew, the one with the

caftan and the beard, serves as a stereotype of the Jewish protagonist

of Zionist crimes. As bizarre as it may sound, Orthodox Jews have very

little to do with the crime they are associated with: the Holocaust

industry, the Zionist sin which oppresses Palestinians, and American

lobbying for Israel. If anything, the converse is true. It is a Jewish

Orthodox sect, namely Neturei Karta, that collectively supports the

Palestinians and fiercely fights Zionism. The secular Jewish tendency

to stereotype the Orthodox Jew may expose two fundamental

psychological elements within the collective Jewish secular psyche.

First, more than anything else, anti-Jewishness, and anti-Semitism,

are internal Jewish affairs. It is the Jews who are the first to hate

everything Jewish. Second, the so-called `liberated' secular Jew is

eager to disassociate himself from any possible ties with the notion

of the `Jew', whom he intentionally defines as a Diaspora

ultra-Orthodox man wrapped in a characteristic caftan and covered with

facial hair. Rather than looking in the mirror and engaging in

self-reflection, the secular Jew pins the current crimes of Israel and

Jewish lobbies on a backward-looking and unattractive man with a big

nose and a big black skullcap. As I mentioned above, this is a

misleading, manipulative tactic. The crimes of the Jewish state, and

its supportive Jewish lobbies, are committed by some handsome Sabras

and ordinary looking human beings; people who look more like Mr Broder

than like an Orthodox Rabbi. The Orthodox Jews have no share in this

crime, at least not collectively.



This collection of cartoons that follows is a glimpse into the world

of a few morally enlightened Jews and what they feel uncomfortable

with. It portrays as well what seems to be the Jewish notion of

Anti-Semitism. Clearly, three main themes keep repeating themselves.

1.`Jewish Power'

2.`Zionist official Holocaust narrative'

3.`Blood Libel'

I would present a collection of my favourite cartoons in that order.



1. Jewish Power





Seemingly, more than a few of the cartoonists found a way to ridicule

what they see as a Jewish intent to own the world, to run its media,

to run America and to seek any means of power and control available,

dismissing any possible moral conduct.



In Jeremy Gerils' work, it is the `Other' who refers to the Jews the

intent to own the world.



In Codor's work it is Jews in disguise that run, what seems to be, the

`World Order'.



Alfred Breitman's `American Flag' doesn't leave us with much doubt.

We are dealing here with the `Jewnited States of JewMerica'.



The Poetic Sherman may have something to say about the real power

behind the American $$$$$s.



Elders Of Zion is indeed something a proper anti-Semite should never

skip. This time it is an offer no one can refuse: Join now, Circumcise

later. Indeed brilliant work by Mike Eighpe (France).



Clearly, the cartoonists do not shy away from illustrating that which

we are all banned from saying. Whether they mean it or now is indeed a

difficult question to answer. However, more than enough was

published about the Israeli influence within the American presidential

administration. As evidence that this issue is entering into

mainstream discourse, rather recently, an extensive work about the

Jewish Lobby's influence in America was published by two major

American academics (

). The cartoons above were made by Jews and were published in

Israel. Thus, I would maintain that artistic work could serve as a

glimpse into the notion of Jewish and Zionist brutality from a unique

internal Jewish perspective.





2. Holocaust Narrative





The holocaust narrative cartoons can be divided into three main

categories: the ones that ridicule the notion of Jewish suffering, the

ones that ridicule the official historical narrative (mainly numbers),

and the ones that draw moral conclusions and associate Nazi crimes

with current Israeli brutality nd the ones that draw moral conclusions

and associate Nazi crimes with current Israeli brutality.



Jewish Suffering:



Jewish identity is associated with the exceptional capability to

enjoy, not to say celebrate, one's symptoms. In practical terms, one

may suggest that Jews may know better than others how to capitalise on

their collective suffering. They have managed to transform pain into

wealth; they were rather quick in turning the Holocaust into an

industrial affair.



Without a doubt, Post-WW2 Jewish politics reduced Jewish agony into an

unbeatable positivist argument backed with many numbers, mountains of

shoes, and piles of glasses and golden teeth.



Robin Moore portrays the process of cold decision-making made by the

concentration camp inmates.



Jeremy Gerlis, who we met before, enlightens the notion of the

post-Holocaust orientated Judeo-centric symbolic order. Within the

newly formed Hebraic world, every perception and lingual _expression is

Auschwitz'ly orientated. Who says that there is no life after Auschwitz?



Numbers, Numbers:



Ostensibly, many of the Jewish cartoonists can't stop themselves from

ridiculing the sacred `six' figure. Nowadays, when some

German-speaking nations are actively implementing Holocaust denial

laws and arresting historical revisionists, it is rather crucial to

emphasise that many Jews do not take the `six` figure and the Zionist

Holocaust narrative very seriously. As we will see next, the Jewish

cartoonists portray the Holocaust as an utter manipulative lie.



Miki Mottes and Elad Cahana from Israel can probably see some clear

discrepancies within the Holocaust tale they learned in Israel.



Asaf Luzon from Israel is no different. He can see that the numbers do

not add.



lan Touri may try to tell us that the `six narrative' is basically a

Jewish orchestrated Hollywood movie.



Aron Katz is no different. He locates Jews in the hub of `fake'

American glory.



Greg found a very personal and funny way to express his doubts.





Jewish Past - Palestinian Present:



Some of the cartoonists didn't refrain themselves from drawing the

necessary conclusions. The Zionists transformed the Jewish bloody

history into a Palestinian reality of pain and misery.



Arnon Moskoitz and Koren Shadmi depict the image of Palestinians

queuing in the entrance to a `Nazi-like' Israeli employment office.



According to AF, from Illinois USA, considering the current Israeli

murderous reality, Adolph may have gotten it right.





3. Blood Libel



Naturally, the Jewish cartoonists couldn't avoid the very charged

subject of blood libel. Jewish European history is spiced with

sporadic tales of blood libel in which Jews are blamed for making

Matzos for Passover using the blood of Christian youngsters. Indeed,

not many would take such an allegation seriously in the 21st century.

However, the blood-thirstiness portrayed by Israeli politicians as

well as the Israeli society, who time after time votes in war

criminals, raises some major concerns regarding the moral integrity of

the reformed Hebraic people. The cartoonist challenges the ethical

quality of the Jewish state and its Jewish inhabitants.



Leandro Spett doesn't leave us much room for doubt. Palestinians are

indeed a necessary ingredient for Passover Matzos.



Greg Berman is concerned whether Palestinian babies are Kosher. Indeed

a legitimate Talmudic question to ask your local Rabbi.



Beto Cruz takes it one step forward. He associates Judaism with some

clear murderous tendencies.



Neta Ram knows how to strengthen the so-called Judeo-Christian bond.

With just a little bit of money and luck, every narrative can be

transformed in favour of the Jews……





Conclusion



To follow Broder's interpretation into the cartoonists' insights, Jews

are capable of anything. They run the show, they own the world, and

they are brutal, monstrous cannibals. As one would expect, once

realising what the contest was about, the Israeli media was very quick

to ignore the event and to dismiss its importance. Israel is far from

interested in letting the world know what Jews could think of themselves.



Generally speaking, in many cases, the strength of a given cartoon is

due to a very clear method of exaggeration; something verging on

Reductio ad absurdum. It stretches our notions and categories beyond

imagination. Yet, it may be hard for some to admit, the Zionist moral

reality is overwhelmingly stretched and this has been the case for

more than a while. Whether it is the continuous robbery of Palestinian

lands, the endless ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, or the

merciless daily killing of innocent Palestinian civilians, all those

appalling crimes are done by the Jewish state in the name of the

Jewish People. Undeniably, as far as the Jewish state is concerned,

there is no room left for the absurd. Moreover, the current state of

Jewish ethics is beyond absurdum, it is a total disaster. It is no

coincidence therefore that within the continuous cruelty towards the

Palestinian people, a reference is made to the plausibility of Blood

Libel or there is a comparison with Nazis. The cartoons may suggest

that if world Jewry supports such genocidal crimes against the

Palestinian people, Jews are probably capable of anything. .



It is quite apparent that many of the Jewish cartoonists present us

with a very low image of the Jewish character, world Jewry, Jewish

interests and so on. Although it may be possible that many of the

cartoonists are taking a very highly cynical standpoint that is far

from what they themselves believe in, it is as well very likely that

we are dealing here with an outstanding collective manifestation of

Jewish self-contempt. Considering the Israeli reality and the support

from world Jewry of this very brutal reality, such a collective

reaction by honest Jews is long overdue, yet, it is more than welcome.

At the end of the day, it is always the proud self-hating Jews who

transform Jewishness into an ethical message.

A phone call from a LaRouchie.

I told you about my chat with LaRouche followers who had a table set up near the municipal building on Friday. I left my phone number with them and today I got a call from a guy named Bob, from the LaRouche organization.

Bob made some statements that I want to put down here for the record. Bob said that the banking and financial system was going to collapse by August unless Bush is impeached before then. He said that Bush can be impeached before August and that local and state level Democrats are turning to LaRouche now for answers. He said that LaRouche youth was addressing the California Democratic Convention and that several caucuses have become supportive of LaRouche's program (to revive the New Deal.)

Bob asked if I could make another contribution (I had bought a magazine at the table). It is urgent because these LaRopuche progrmas have got to get into the hands of the key Democrats so they will go and make the Democrats in Congress (who are a minority by the way) push Bush out of office. It all is very time sensitive and money is key.

Back to the future

Last night I went to my first old fashioned movement planning meeting in a couple of decades and volunteered to meet with the group for today's demonstration against the Iraq war to do some work for their specific cause which will remain nameless for now.Okay this morning I got there on time and at the appointed place which spread over a city block so I walked back and forth a few times, maybe more than a few times looking for one face I could recognize from that meeting. Not finding that face I wandered around listening to the warm up speeches. My sciatica, which has been under control for a while kicked in for the first time in weeks and so I actually didn't do the march for which I am sorry. Maybe had a I thought one more body would have mattered I would have walked through the pain as I've done for years but I've become too accustomed to not feeling shooting pain down my left leg starting at the base of my spine, so I opted for finding a place to nurse a coffee and then the M11 back home. I wish the march all success and like I said had you been very few (it looked like there were a lot of marchers from where I could see) I probably would have toughed it out and then suffered for a few days.

Anyhow my body is still gearing back to being diurnal.

The Case of Rush Limbaugh and other topics of the day

If I needed the pefect illustration for my position on the "Drug War" I was naded it today. Guess what- Rush isn't going to jail. Rush will have a clean record in eighteen months. Youthful indescretions are to be forgiven, right Rush? Rush, an appropriate enough name, no?

According to the Jamaica Daily Gleaner Mexico is aobut to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana, cocaine and heroin held for personal use. The Reuters article said that police will not penalise people for possessing up to five grams of marijuana, five grams of opium, 25 milligrams of heroin or 500 milligrams of cocaine.

Possession of larger amounts will lead to a presumption of sales or intent to sell and will be punished quite harshly.

Mexico is also decriminalising the possession of small amounts of other drugs, including LSD, "magic mushrooms," amphetamines and peyote.

Swedish government says "Israel is not currently acting in the name of peace"

Sweden boycotts air force drills due to Israel's participation

Sweden called off its participation in international air force
exercises to take place in Italy next month because of the involvement
of the Israel Air Forces in the drills.

Sweden was supposed to send nine aircraft to Italy for Volcanex 2006.
"Israel is not currently acting in the name of peace, and therefore,
it should not take part in the demonstration," senior officials in
Stockholm said.

A Swedish Foreign Ministry official said, "The point of the operation
is to prepare for international cooperation in preserving world peace.
The participation of the Israeli air force changes the prerequisites
of the drill."

While not mentioning Israel by name, Swedish Defense Minister Leni
Bjorklund said that her country is withdrawing because of the
participation of "a state that does not take part in preserving
international peace."

Israeli officials responded harshly to the decision.
One government source said, "The lack of sympathy for Israel in Sweden
is out of proportion. Some government ministers spearhead the most
anti- Israel approach in all of Europe, and particularly in
Scandinavia. In meetings between senior Israelis and Swedish
ministers, the Swedes refuse to listen to Israel's positions."

National Religious Party Chairman MK Zevulun Orlev, called Sweden's
decision anti-Semitic, saying, "Just a day after the commemoration of
Holocaust Remembrance Day, an enlightened nation has risen and
surrendered to the Islamic axis of evil."

Others feared it could fracture the shaky international coalition Bush is striving to assemble to oppose Iran’s nuclear program by framing the threat as primarily to Israel rather than international stability.

Ambassador Edward Walker, a former U.S. envoy to Israel who now heads the Middle East Institute in Washington, termed Bush’s Israel focus “a terrible idea.”

“Just think about if gas prices go up to $7 a gallon as a result, and everybody is saying it’s because of Israel,” he said.

1,347 days passed between Pearl Harbor Day and the surrender of Japan on VJ Day.To my count, it's been 1386 days since 9/11. The World Trade Center is still a gaping hole in the ground. Osama Bin Laden, or "Osama Bin Laden" is still alive (probably). The Guantanamo concentration camp has become a stain on the reputation and an embarassment to the American people as has the War Against Iraq and the continuing subordination of the interests of the American people to that of the State of Israel (Sometimes called "The Jews Only State.")

America's retired Generals are calling for the resignation of the civilian leader of the Pentagon, and by indirection, are politely calling for that of the Commander In Chief.

America is now the world's largest debtor and the creditors sweat, or well they should, as they contemplate (or should) being paid back in worthless paper.

I think some sort of recognition, awards of some type, should go to those leaders who are responsible for the present situation.

Statement of Public Advocate Betsy Gotbaum for City Council Hearing on Oversight of the Child Welfare System



Thank you, Chair de Blasio for calling for this important inquiry. I apologize that a prior engagement will prevent me from staying for the whole hearing.

I want to emphasize how important it is, with Commissioner Mattingly here today, to seize this opportunity to move forward with the process of reforming the child welfare system.

Commissioner Mattingly, you are highly respected in the child welfare community, and you come to us with a great deal of experience and expertise. We are counting on you to make the changes that are clearly necessary to better protect our children.

The brutal killing of Nixzmary Brown was a wake-up call that shouldn’t have been necessary. Not when dozens of children die each year of suspected abuse and neglect.

Over the past four years, my office has conducted an on-going analysis of the child welfare system. This analysis has uncovered an alarming lack of communication and coordination between ACS and other government agencies, a high rate of caseworker turnover, and a troubling inability to use past cases of child abuse as a basis for preventing future cases.

In fairness, we must acknowledge that Commissioner Mattingly and Mayor Bloomberg have responded to the wake-up call with a renewed commitment to reform. They have announced a number of measures to address the failings of the system, among them new protocols for communication and coordination between ACS, the Department of Education, and the NYPD. These measures are a step in the right direction. I encourage the Mayor and the Commissioner to include more agencies in the reform process.

It seems that, in too many child fatality cases, ACS fails to communicate effectively with other City agencies that have important information to convey, or fails to act on the information properly. In the case of Dahquay Gillians, for instance, the Department of Probation had pertinent information about the ongoing drug use of Dahquay’s mother and conveyed that information to ACS, but ACS did not conduct adequate follow-up.

Mayor Bloomberg and Commissioner Mattingly should take additional steps to review and improve communications and coordination between ACS, the Department of Probation, the Department of Corrections, the Human Resources Administration, and other relevant agencies.

Along the same lines, ACS must gain access to the State’s Domestic Violence Registry in order to screen all members of potential adoptive or foster households for incidents of domestic violence.

ACS routinely removes children from homes that it deems unsafe without taking this step to ensure that their new homes are actually safer. According to the agency’s own records, in fiscal year 2004 alone, there were over twelve hundred reports of New York City children in foster care being abused or neglected.

Screening foster and adoptive homes for domestic violence would help prevent such cases. The harrowing fact is that in up to sixty percent of homes affected by domestic violence, there is also child abuse.

I have offered to help ACS coordinate with the State to gain access to the Domestic Violence Registry.

Mayor Bloomberg and Commissioner Mattingly should also expand efforts to address the critical issue of caseworker turnover. High turnover means that child welfare cases are often passed from one caseworker to another with little continuity of care, and the ones who suffer are the children who get lost in the shuffle.

I am encouraged by the announcement that ACS will hire 325 more child protective service workers in order to decrease caseloads. Overloaded and under-prepared caseworkers cannot always make the acute and timely judgments necessary to protect the life of an abused child.

A high caseload, however, is likely not the only factor contributing to low caseworker morale. The fact is, this is one of the most difficult jobs in the city. I applaud ACS for announcing new measures to increase training and supervision, but I recommend that it take further steps to determine what can be done to decrease burn-out, boost morale, and ultimately reduce turnover.

Finally, ACS must do more to learn from the mistakes of the past. Past cases should be treated as an important piece of the puzzle when making a determination in current cases.

When my office conducted an analysis of child deaths from 2002, we found that, in half the cases reviewed, ACS failed to properly investigate prior reports of abuse or neglect, assess the safety of homes and foster homes, and identify dangerous adults in those homes. Such lapses continue to plague the system.

ACS could begin to address the problem by conducting a thorough, systematic review of all closed cases involving failed contract foster care agencies, if it hasn’t done so already, in order to ensure that the cases were handled properly.

These measures, along with the initiatives the Mayor has already announced, will help ensure that ACS is able to fulfill its mission of protecting our most vulnerable children.

So Betsy, are you on record as saying that the Bloomberg "initiatives" are going to solve ACS' problems, or at least most of them?

Surely you know Betsy that the agency is understaffed now and that no matter how many hundreds of new caseworkers you bring in the crisis is now. We at ECS are seeing approximately twice the number of reports as normal. People in the Field Offices are spending days at Family Court while these cases are landing on their desks. What do you say to that Betsy?

People have quit this job without even bothering to submit resignations, just plain stopped showing up. Why would you guess that is Betsy? I would wager that by the time your 300 new caseworkers have gone through training (I'll make a side bet that this training is going to be ''accelerated'' in some way) you will have lost fully trained and experienced workers?

There is no crisis at Special Victims Unit although they shared responsiblity for Nixzmary. Why? Perhaps they have a different caliblre of leadership than we do. Their leaders defend their troops.

First of all, there are Jewish parties, such as Chadash, (and the Israeli Communist Party) that advocate a single-state solution, so the statement, "But they are not allowed to form political parties which advocate a multi-cultural state in which palestinians and jews share power," is actually unmitigated bullshit. Second, this: "in this "outpost of democracy," no party that opposes the existence of the Jewish state is permitted to take part in elections" It seems silly to expect that a state whose right to exist you deny should be expected to welcome you into its political structure. If I tried to start a party here in the states tomorrow, and part of my platform was opposition to the existence of the U.S.A., I wouldn't get very far. And that's appropriate; for all of Israel's faults, (and there are many) the first rule of participation is: you must accept the existence of the government you're trying to participate in. That's the same for any society on Earth.

Annie E. Casey Foundation Will Support New Panel Made Up of Local National Child Welfare Experts
Citing the need to continue reform efforts and maintain public accountability, Administration for Children's Services (ACS) Commissioner William C. Bell today announced the formation of a new Child Welfare Advisory Panel made up of local and national child welfare experts.

The new panel would replace the outgoing Special Child Welfare Advisory Panel, which was created as part of the 1998 settlement between the City and child welfare advocates who had brought the federal Marisol class action lawsuit. The panel of five national child welfare experts closely reviewed ACS reform efforts for two years, ... blah blah and etcetera....

...to review ACS initiatives and advise ACS on reform efforts. Its concluding public report on the state of reform efforts at ACS is being published today...blah etcetera

...Commissioner Bell said, "ACS believes that our reform efforts benefit from the additional public accountability that an advisory panel provides. I have reiterated our commitment to continuing to maintain the standards of excellence that have been established at ACS and its contracted service providers. ACS believes that an ongoing advisory panel can play a major role as we continue our broader responsibilities to protect children and to keep the public informed about those efforts."

Oh and where is that ongoing advisory panel today???

Commissioner Bell advanced the idea of a new panel in a March 7 letter to Doug Nelson, the President of the Annie E. Casey Foundation who also served as the Chair of the Special Child Welfare Advisory Panel. (in stead of a panel answering to a federal judge...)The Annie E. Casey Foundation, a private philanthropy based in Baltimore, Maryland, has agreed to underwrite the costs of the new Panel and provide technical and other assistance to it...
Gail Nayowith, executive director of the Citizens' Committee for Children (CCC), an independent New York City-based child advocacy organization, has agreed to chair the new panel, which will be known as the NYC Child Welfare Advisory Panel. It will be made up of local and national child welfare experts and include a number of members from the outgoing panel."I look forward to working with the new panel, the new ACS Commissioner and the new Mayor," Ms. Nayowith said. "I also look forward to being responsive to the broad child welfare community that is committed to making New York City's child welfare system work better for children and families."

The panel will meet regularly with the ACS leadership team, have full access to ACS programs, and will publish public reports on ACS performance.

Commissioner Bell welcomed the outgoing panel's concluding report.
"We agree with the panel report that although tremendous progress has been made by ACS, much remains to be done, especially in the further development of our neighborhood-based services networks throughout the City," Commissioner Bell said.

(Wait a minute! Does this mean that for how many years ACS was not filing the correct papers with the Feds, costing hundreds of millions of local tax dollars? Say what? Judge: Not unreasonable for city workers to surf Web

NEW YORK (AP) -- Saying surfing the web is equivalent to reading a newspaper or talking on the phone, an administrative law judge has suggested that only a reprimand is appropriate as punishment for a city worker accused of failing to heed warnings to stay off the Internet.

Administrative Law Judge John Spooner reached his decision in the case of Toquir Choudhri, a 14-year veteran of the Department of Education who had been accused of ignoring supervisors who told him to stop browsing the Internet at work.

The ruling came after Mayor Michael Bloomberg fired a worker in the city's legislative office in Albany earlier this year after he saw the man playing a game of solitaire on his computer.

In his decision, Spooner wrote: "It should be observed that the Internet has become the modern equivalent of a telephone or a daily newspaper, providing a combination of communication and information that most employees use as frequently in their personal lives as for their work."

He added: "For this reason, city agencies permit workers to use a telephone for personal calls, so long as this does not interfere with their overall work performance. Many agencies apply the same standard to the use of the Internet for personal purposes."

Spooner dispensed the lightest possible punishment on Choudhri, a reprimand, after a search of Choudhri's computer files revealed he had visited several news and travel sites.

Martin Druyan, Choudhri's lawyer, called the ruling "very reasonable."

The Administration for Children's Services has put out a nasty and un American Gag order.

The same wonderful and brilliant folks who brought you the Nixzmary Brown case, the Whitick case and so many others you haven't heard about have warned their underlings that even on their own time and on their own computers they are not to put out into the internet anything that would detract from the image of the municipal government and are not to utilize any "internal infomation" (this is not to be confused with "confidential information") but information that a worker may have heard, seen or read that the agency itself does not make public.

Now folks, we are not talking about secret proprietary recipes for a cola drink, we are talking about gaffes, misdeeds, ill conceived internal policies, false disseminated public information, etc. of and from a government agency existing in a supposedly democratic society. (You know, where the people are the masters of the government and not the other way around).


Now we are not talking about a hypothetically incompetent groups of fillers of pot holes here. We are talking about a body of men and women numbering in the thousands in this city alone who can and do enter people's homes at all hours of the day or night and have the authrority to take the children from each or any of those homes prior to getting the permission of a judge. Pretty strong stuff!

Why would a democratic government want its people not to know the internal workings of such an awsomely powerful group of people?

Friday was my birthday- the big six oh

Friday I went to Administration for Children's Services and did the paperwork for my retirement under protest. The story is laid out on this page. I went down there with my wife, the lovely Marbella Weixel, mi venezolana, who waited for me window shopping as I waited and filled out forms. After I got done with that we took a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge which is nearby.

What an inspiration that bridge is! Gorgeous, a work of art, one of the wonders of the world, certainly. John Augustus Roebling, its designer, gave his life to that bridge and you can see the love he and countless others put into it back in 1875. I remember the 100th birthday celebration for the bridge. There had to be more than a million people all along the East River and the fireworks display as I remember it was something grander and more immense than any I have seen before or since.

From the bridge you can see the two main Manhattan skylines, Downtown and Midtown and also a not unimpresive Brooklyn skyline. You can tell which buildings predated World War Two and which post dated it. It's clear. Even the ugly old one was built with artistry and it's ugly because it just turned out that way.

Now perhaps the most beautiful of the old downtown buildings is the Woolworth Building. It had been called "A Cathedral Of Commerce" and was built to be beautiful and to speak well of all who worked to raise it up as was the Brooklyn Bridge and the other older buildings. This photo doesn't begin to do the lobby justice.

This building and its lobby is sadly off limits to all casual visitors. You can't get inside to see the spectacular walls and cieling and enjoy the cool marble. I did have the opportunity to do this a few times years ago before this retrograde policy was taken up by the building's owners. I felt sad when I couldn't show Marbella this site of fond memories of a once young man who loved to walk the streets from Coney Island to Yankee Stadium.

Most of the newer buildings are ugly because their appearances inside or out were not factors, only economy, only the packing in of the most units at the least cost matter now with some few exceptions.

RICO AND THE GOVERNMENT

Can a governmental agency, such as the FBI or the Department of Justice or my local city or county council violate the RICO Act?Although this question has not been addressed by the United States Supreme Court, the circuit courts of appeals who have considered the question generally agree that governmental entities cannot be named as defendant persons under the RICO Act and, thus, cannot be held civilly or criminally liable for violations of the statute. Various reasons have been expressed for allowing governmental entities to escape liability under RICO. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit has held that "government entities are not capable of forming [the] malicious intent" necessary to support a RICO action. Pedrina v. Chun, 97 F.3d 1296, 1300 (9th Cir. 1996) (quoting Lancaster Community Hospital v. Antelope Valley Hospital, 940 F.2d 397, 404 (9th Cir. 1991)), cert. denied, 520 U.S. 1268 (1997). The Ninth Circuit also considers it bad policy to hold the "body-politic" liable for the criminal actions of a single government agent or a group of government agents obviously operating beyond the scope of their authority. Lancaster Community Hospital, 940 F.2d at 404. The United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit has ruled that federal government entities cannot be held liable under RICO because "racketeering activity" occurs only if the defendant is "chargeable", "indictable", or "punishable" for violations of the crimes listed in section 1961(1). Because "a federal agency is not subject to state or federal criminal prosecution," a federal governmental entity cannot possibly violate the RICO Act. Berger v. Pierce, 933 F.2d 393, 397 (6th Cir. 1991).

The inquiry does not end merely because a governmental entity cannot be held liable under RICO. An individual government agent can still face personal liability under RICO if she violated the RICO Act and if she cannot assert any sovereign or governmental immunity defense. Usually, such a defense is not available to a government agent who engages in racketeering activity because acts are racketeering are not within the scope of the agent's authority as an employee of the government.

Also, even though a government agency cannot be named as a defendant person under RICO, a government agency may still serve as the enterprise through which a defendant engages in a pattern of racketeering. Any governmental agent extorting persons "under color of authority" is participating in the conduct of the governmental entity's affairs through a pattern of racketeering activity. Governmental entities may also be an enterprise if they are a passive instrument through which the racketeering acts are committed, advanced or concealed, or a governmental entity may also be a victim enterprise, e.g., if outsiders were operating or managing the affairs of the enterprise through bribery, for example. Being named as an enterprise, however, does not expose the governmental entity to any liability.

Okay Mr. Grell's part is over, here are my thoughts-
What brought me to thinking about this is the commonplace situation in which CPS forces people to enroll in certain type programs, particularly "marijuana addiction" programs in cases where the only thing they have is a confessional remark that a parent has smoked pot or a positive urine sample even though there is no finding that any child is being harmed, hurt, neglected, abused or otherwise needs the help of the government. In New York the law is very clear and so is the CPS own template that there must be a causal relationship between DRUG MISUSE (the word is not "use" it's misuse) and harm to a child in order to "indicate" a case.- More about indicated cases later.

This sequence of sentences, words and ideas has challenged CPS for years. Wouldn't a good old mano a mano knock down drag out personal law suit send some vibes through the training and management sectors of CPS at least for a little while?

Reading comprehension is a problem for busy social workers.

Chuckle, I'll get to that later. Actually not all that funny because some of these reading comprehension gaps have hurt innocent people.

It's another tale of two members of Congress, of racism and hypocrisy, and it serves as a reminder, as if one was needed, that Washington, D.C., is in the heart of the old Confederacy.

...Six years ago this May, Lantos was driving his car in Washington, D.C., and ran over the left foot of 13-year-old Owen Sanderson. Sanderson and his eighth grade classmates from a school in Bolton, Mass., were crossing the plaza in front of the Capitol when the congressman drove over the boy's foot, sending him to the pavement screaming in pain, the boy and his teachers told the press. Lantos then left the scene without getting out of his car to see whether the boy had been hurt.
As the Boston Globe described it, "While several horrified teachers and the principal shouted at Lantos to stop, the California Democrat sat rigidly, staring straight ahead and refusing to get out of his white Ford Taurus, which carried U.S. Congress plates."
"The first thing I heard was Owen screaming," said Ken Tucker, principal of the Worcester-area school. "Owen's foot was pinned under the car."
Lantos, 72 at the time, finally reversed slightly, freeing Owen's foot and ankle, and drove off without checking on his condition, said Tucker and several teachers. Lantos said he had no idea the boy had been hurt. "I was driving to my office," he said. "There was a typical spring mob of tourists and kids and so on. … One of the kids, horsing around, not looking or something, jumped in front of the car, stumbled, then got up and walked away."
Owen's teachers and principal were dismayed at what they saw as insensitivity and arrogance by a government official, the Boston Globe reported. "If he had stopped and spoken to us, we would have had a much different response to this," said Malin, the art teacher. "It's called human decency."...

Sue I beat you in an up and down debate about "The Holocaust" here and made you look silly. Stop with that Nazi baiting stuff, it doesn't become you and you know you're lying.

You know I have to laugh when you state that Israel Shamir is "Probably Swedish." What's Your point?

Racism unprecedented since Nazi Germany- The US Drug war.

Majority of U.S. prisoners are in due to drug war. Over 2 million inmates. Drug crimes, drug-related crimes (such as robbing to get money for drugs that are expensive because of the drug war), drug trade crimes, drug-related parole violations, etc.. USA has highest incarceration rate. The Drug-War Industrial Complex. The USA has less than 5% of the world's population, but has 25% of the world's prisoners.

These figures actually hide the worst of it. Looking at African Americans and Mexican americans as separate nationalities they suffer unprecedented rates of incarceration matched in history perhaps by Nazi occupied Europe. And THOSE facts are not the half of it either!

Police sweep Black and Latino areas for drug suspects, that is for arrests. I once had a case in which two special needs children were almost left unattended because police had caught their mother up in a drug sweep on a major thoroughfare in a "ghetto" neighborhood. The person who called the report was a home care worker there to help the children. The mother had gone out to buy some groceries and she made the error of cashing a check first. The home attendant called in a neighbor to watch the kids but called the state anyhow because the mom had appeared to have vanished. She had locked up for having the proceeds of a two hundred dollar check (purported suspected "drug money") on her while exiting a check cashing store. The only phone she had was the cell phone that police vouchered. She could not call home. There was no phone at home.

This sort of thing happens in The Greatest City In The World.

I once had a chat with a narco cop and I asked him if he thought he would find more cocaine and unexplained cash and fungibles on 149th Street in the South Bronx or in Trump Tower. He laughed and told me that of course I know the answer, but there are no such "sweeps" in areas outside the ghettoes.

Black and Latinos are locked up in rural Republican districts where the best job to be had is that of prison hack. They are then counted into the local population and because of this their numbers add to Republican numerical strength in the State Legislature in Albany (The State Capital) and in Washington DC.

What happens when a white rural Republican prison guard's son gets caught with drugs? Most likely no jail, but a mandated program is the result.

This is the democracy that the US wishes to export.

What's In A Name? Israel or Jews Only State?

Bob Finch is also known as John Lynch. As far as I know he is open about these two names and there is some legitimate history behind his using two names. The Jews-Only State in Palestine: Part One

Jews-Only Religion.
It started a couple of thousand years ago when some jewish people decided to create a fictitious god who would regard only them as his chosen race. Jews became god’s special race whilst all other races were deemed inferior because they would never win his divine favour. Unlike all other religions, which allow anyone to become a member who professes the basic principles of that religion, judaism is exclusively for jews. It is next to impossible for a non-jew to be admitted into the judaic religion. It is as difficult for non-jews to become a member of judaism as it is for them to become a jew. In other words, judaism is a jews-only religion. For millenia this sense of divine specialness, exclusiveness, chosenness, and supremacism, has percolated throughout jewish culture. Putting aside the religious aspect of this belief, what the message boils down to is that only jews matter, only jews are important, all other races are inferior.

The modern manifestation of the jewish tradition of specialness and supremacism was the violent creation of a jews-only state in palestine. To jews, god had given the land of israel to the jews and the presence of non-jews on this sacred judaic soil is sacrilegious.

Jews-Only Political Rights: The Second Class Status of Palestinian-Israelis.
Despite the fact that there are many palestinians with israeli citizenship, the zionist state is a jews-only state because only jews have full rights. Firstly, palestinian israelis have only limited political rights in comparison to jews. They have the right to vote in zionist elections, form political parties, hold political meetings, contest for seats in the knesset, and even become members of the jewish parliament But they are not allowed to form political parties which advocate a multi-cultural state in which palestinians and jews share power, "in this "outpost of democracy," no party that opposes the existence of the Jewish state is permitted to take part in elections. It is as if the United States were to declare itself a Christian state, define "Christian" not by religious belief but by descent, and then pass a "gag law" prohibiting public discussion of the issue." Secondly, despite the fact that palestinian israelis seem to have many political rights, they do not have the same legal rights as jews – which surely indicates the insignificance of their political rights and the relative insignificance of democracy to jews. "The tours (of Palestinian and Bedouin areas inside Israel) proved to be a dramatic illustration of the discrimination and racism inherent in a system designed specifically to maintain a Jewish majority - a system based on the superiority of Jews over anyone else. Palestinians, including Bedouin, living inside Israel are citizens of the state. They can vote in Israeli elections; Bedouin, although not other Palestinians, serve in the Israeli military. As a matter of law and of the institutional arrangements inherent in Israel's status as a Jewish-majority state, however, Palestinians and Bedouin, because they are non-Jews, do not receive anything like equal rights or services from the state. Not only do they face the kind of de facto discrimination that blacks have faced in the U.S. - their schools are inadequate, their municipal services are inadequate, they face job discrimination, their towns often sit next to toxic waste dumps and other environmentally hazardous sites - but because Israel is explicitly a Jewish state, Palestinians are unable by law to enjoy the benefits of the state provided to Jews or in any way to live in the state as Jews do." The Bloodthirsty God of the Passover Hagadah

Once as a boy I sat through a Passover ceremony at my secular leftist parents' house where parts of the Hagadah were read. My mother had invited a non Jewish co worker and as the festifities moved on I became increasingly embarassed at the words we were reading aloud:


"I will pass through the land of Egypt," I and not an angel;
"And I will smite every first-born in the land of Egypt," I and not a seraph;
"And I will carry out judgments against all the gods of Egypt," I and not a messenger;
"I- the L-rd," it is I, and none other!
"With a strong hand," this refers to the dever (pestilence) as it is said: "Behold, the hand of the L-rd will be upon your livestock in the field, upon the horses, the donkeys, the camels, the herds and the flocks, a very severe pestilence."
"And with an outstretched arm," this refers to the sword, as it is said: "His sword was drawn, in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem."
"And with a great manifestation," this refers to the revelation of the Shechinah (Divine Presence), as it is said: "Has any G-d ever tried to take for himself a nation from the midst of another nation, with trials, signs and wonders, with war and with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, and with great manifestations, like all that the L-rd your G-d, did for you in Egypt before your eyes!"
"And with signs," this refers to the staff, as it is said: "Take into your hand this staff with which you shall perform the signs."
"And wonders," this refers to the blood, as it is said: "And I shall show wonders in heaven and on earth.
When saying the following words "blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke," spill three times from the wine in the cup. Do not remove wine by dipping a finger, but by spilling from the cup itself, and do so into a broken/chipped dish. (Have in mind that the cup symbolizes the aspect of malchut which contains an aspect of "anger and indignation." By means of our faculty of binah (understanding) we pour out [that aspect of "anger and indignation" - by spilling from the wine in the cup into a broken dish which represents kelipah, i.e., that which is called accursed [the principle of evil]).
Blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke
Another explanation: "Strong hand" indicates two [plagues]; "Outstretched arm," another two; "Great manifestation," another two; "Signs," another two; and "Wonders," another two.
These are the Ten Plagues which the Holy One, blessed be He, brought upon the Egyptians, namely as follows:
When saying the ten plagues, spill from the cup itself ten times, as stated above (and when spilling, again have in mind what was said above). The wine remaining in the cup (will have become `wine that causes joy,' thus) is not to be spilled, but other wine is added to it [to refill the cup].
Blood. Frogs. Lice. Wild Beasts. Pestilence. Boils. Hail. Locust. Darkness. Slaying of the First-born.

First off clearly there are other gods. They took a licking. (Did they keep on ticking?)
Then all this suffering of ordinary Egyptians. Blessed be He who takes the first born child of everyone in a nation? Sorry I can't be with that.


Rabbi Yosi the Gallilean said: How do you know that the Egyptians were stricken by ten plagues in Egypt, and then were struck by fifty plagues at the sea?
In Egypt it says of them, "The magicians said to Pharaoh `This is the finger of G-d.' At the sea it says, "Israel saw the great hand that the L-rd laid against Egypt; and the people feared the L-rd, and they believed in the L-rd and in His servant Moses."
Now, how often were they smitten by `the finger'? Ten plagues!
Thus you must conclude that in Egypt they were smitten by ten plagues, at the sea they were smitten by fifty plagues!
Rabbi Eliezer said: How do we know that each individual plague which the Holy One, blessed be He, brought upon the Egyptians in Egypt consisted of four plagues?
For it is said: "He sent against them His fierce anger, fury, and indignation, and trouble, a discharge of messengers of evil": `Fury,' is one; `Indignation,' makes two; `Trouble,' makes three; `Discharge of messengers of evil,' makes four.
Thus you must now say that in Egypt they were struck by forty plagues, and at the sea they were stricken by two hundred plagues.
Rabbi Akiva said: How do we know that each individual plague which the Holy One, blessed be He, brought upon the Egyptians in Egypt consisted of five plagues?

Marc Perkel = Hates Christianity

Marc Perkel is the self styled "most dangerous mind on the internet" b for some odd reason he felt impelled to come after me and my post " There is a God- Don't dare harm these children! " Now as far as I know I never met this character nor had any sort of conversation with him. Apparently he can or thinks he can "lock you out of 500 domains." I once did join as a lark his "Church of Reality" which I did online with no words with him nor money exchanged. I found that his site exclusively attacks Christianity and searched in vain for words such as "Zionism" on his websites, whereas this man says that the pursuit of reality is his purpose. Well I never said "boo" to him but did put him on my mailing list. Apparently rather than tell me he doesn't want mail from me as a handfull have with their wishes honored Perkel was so incensed by me that he went to some efforts to harm me without ever telling me that he had a problem with me and what that problem was.

To make clear what "God" means to me, "God" means justice and mercy, a world where indeed there is right and wrong. "God" means a universe that runs according to laws, and this miracle that is called "life." When and if an atheist can explain why living things grow and what that force is that makes them different from iron and quartz I'd like to see it and I'd like to know how it was that in the Big Bang nothingness became a universe.

For most of my life I've counted myself an atheist, a non believer. My years on the edge, driving my taxi in the New York City nights and seeing good and bad even each other out time and time again, and my working for ten years with and around very spiritual people in a very spiritual calling - that of protecting children and at the same time protecting them and their parents from the madnesses and injustices and stupidities that hallmark the child protective system, I came to see that we and life and the universe are not coincidences, that "The Big Bang" is another way of saying "Let there be light."

I know that what I am saying is not perfectly clear and is not perfectly logical. I hope Perkel eventually sees this blog if he hasn't

With Fox News leading the way, the story of Cynthia McKinney's scuffle with a Capitol cop continues to make the headlines in the United States. An absurdity, one would have thought, given the original incident.
The Capitol Hill policeman in question supposedly failed to recognise Congresswoman McKinney, grabbed hold of her, and she responded by allegedly hitting the cop with her cell phone. But we should remember that, given technical miniaturisation, a modern mobile phone is hardly a lethal weapon - and surely the cop was failing in his job by failing to recognise McKinney.

According to the media wolf pack, U.S. Attorney Kenneth L. Wainstein is reviewing the 'case', which means an arrest warrant could be issued for Congresswoman McKinney. Wainstein is best known for his pearl of wisdom - wait for it -: "Terrorists and spies use public libraries!"

The fuss is even more bizarre when one considers that numerous members of Congress are little more than the corrupt hirelings of various lobbies. They are incapable of standing up to the blandishments of Alaskan loggers, tobacco barons or pharmaceutical companies, let alone THE LOBBY that Cynthia has openly defied. Unlike them, Cynthia has never bowed the knee to the AIPAC.

While Cynthia McKinney has resisted, too many of the white men in suits have chosen wrong over right. And Cynthia has been consistently right about the attack on Iraq, about the many bizarre anomalies of the 9/11 attack and about increasing domestic deprivation.

If you are in a position to make a difference, and are still brave enough to offend the really powerful, then retribution will invariably follow, sooner or later. You can be 'Gallowayed' and flung into jail on flimsy charges as you enter Egypt. Or you can be 'Livingstoned', like London's Mayor, and threatened with loss of office over some harmless banter.

The former leader of Britain's Liberal party, Charles Kennedy, had his card marked when he opposed the attack on Iraq. He did this in a quite diffident and half-hearted way, but it was enough to be noted down against him. After a decent interval, he was swept away by a suspiciously coordinated and synchronised press storm. Incidentally, most ordinary people were bemused by the virulence the print media displayed towards this inoffensive and basically decent man.

Several years earlier, a UK government minister, David Mellor, dared to express some sympathy with the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza. He was gone in a (blatantly setup) sex scandal a short while later. In America, the fate of Paul Findley, a man who should have been a real 'elder stateman', is well known : political oblivion.

I recall that Cynthia was courteous enough to send me a note of thanks after I e-mailed her a couple of Josephine Baker song links. Jo Baker once encountered controversy herself when she called Juan Peron's Argentina 'an enlightened democracy'.

Old time Argentina may or may not have been an 'enlightened democracy', but one thing is certain : modern America is neither enlightened nor even a true democracy. This episode proves that fact, yet again.

A tenfold increase in the population in fifty years of some locale is
not anything like "natural" or "normal" or "typical" population

Your "colorblindness" is to be commended. World history though has

Rarely have I met a person who thinks that there are "too many people
on earth" who counts himself among the surplus, nor his children, nor
his wife, nor his cousins, nor his social club nor people in his line
of work. Often they are directing our gaze to Africa as an example
of "overpopulation" when it's quite wide open spaces in Africa, while
Europe doesn't come to mind. In fact isn't the "crisis" in Europe
about the refusal of so many liberated western women to even have

Israel.

I spend most of my time in New York City. I live in Harlem, married
to a woman from Venezuela. Our ultimate plan (we're not 100 percent
on it) is to go to her homeland and finish out our lives there.
Recently I've been to Vermont and to Pennsylvania, including the area
peopled by those pleasant folks who travel in the horse and buggies.
Houses are cheap in both places relative to New York. If I could
start work not at the dead ass bottom in either of those places I'd
probably re locate, but at my age in this world that's a fantasy.
Could be we'll retire to one of those places rather than Venezuela.

Your world view Israel, is that there are around four billion people
alive on earth who shouldn't be. It's fair to ask you just who they
are. How will you kindly and gently erase them?

I used to love New York but it's becoming just too difficult to
contemplate retiring here, and it isn't the same city I grew up in,
not because there are too many people here now (there are about the
same number as fifty yers ago) but because globalization and de
communization has made it a hell for working class people.
Fortunately my rent here in Harlem is bearable on my income. I
suppose I could retire right here in Harlem. I do love the place
though it isn't where I grew up. It will however soon not be Harlem
at all, but "Manhattan North Central" or something like that.

When I was a kid the city was 1/3 Jewish, largely moderate income and
leftist (in the American context) and the common political wisdom
said that a Jew should not and could not be mayor. We had a public
school system that was the best in the US. We had public housing
projects and moderate income co ops going up in all the five
boroughs. Landlords were restricted in the rents they could charge.
There was work that didn't require specialized college degrees on
which a man could feed and house his wife and kids and then send the
kids on to college. My uncle Aaron drove a taxi and his wife was a
seamstress and they owned a two family house. Today taxi drivers
sometimes live in their taxis. Today that same two family house costs
more than half a million dollars. The parks were clean and nice to
visit. Today only Central Park is really well maintained. Some of the
parks are completely abandoned. All that is gone I've lived here most
of my almost sixty years watching slide out from under my feet.

About being de Jewified, I don't see where objecting to propaganda
that could justify two or four billion euthanasias so that some
elitists could sit under fig trees without having to fight for it
makes me a Jew. Judaism is the religion that sees most humans as not
quite worthy of life. Probably my view is closer to Catholic or
Muslim. Today's world could afford you your fig tree but you might
have to fight for the land. We might have to spend money taking fresh
water out of the oceans and piping it to Gondor and such places and
we might have to fight very hard to take that money away from those
who have it.

My job takes me daily to The Bronx (where I used to live) and into
people's homes. I truly love the place and the people there. I love
my Harlem and the people who live here. I love my Venezuelan step
kids like they were my own. Anyone who says they or we are excess has
to fight me. I truly regret having this exchange with you because I
do respect your stance, and your writings are among the things that
have shaken my world for the better. I am in fact flabergasted at
your position on this thing. You and Carbonics make the Club of Rome
look like raving Papists.

To speak of putting the human population clock back to 1800 is to
speak of four or five billion "excess people " living and breathing
today. Talk of people of the book, people of the land,
deJewification, New York Jew arrogance, etc. are smokescreens for a
really anti human agenda.

Judaism is the religion that justifies killing others, that posits
that the majority of the people of earth live to serve the chosen
ones who sit beneath their vines and fig trees. I reject this
religion with every conscious neuron I have.

Babies, children, human beings are blessings and not curses. They do
not get in the way of "us" sitting beneath "our" fig trees.

As I've said, anyone who calls those I love "excess" has to fight me.

Israel's first example of "overpopulation" was coincidentally, for
we're all color blind here, an African country.

I've demonstrated that the earth is not nearly crowded, there is
plenty of land for everyone. Water from the oceans can with not too
much trouble be used to reclaim deserts, and in fact imperfectly and
under the weight of a horrible system ruled under the philosophy
Mamonism somehow more or less six billion people do live and breath.
Imagine a just world where we see each other as blood relatives and
are satisfied with what we need, as opposed to lusting after and
murdering for that which we might want. Of course to get to that

Child Protective Specialist is a noble profession. It doesn't pay too well and it's hard work often enough. One can do terrific and wonderful things.

I would not want to discourage anyone who has high ideals from going into the job, with eyes wide open. There is an organizational culture in the offices centered on the old line managers and supervisors who are number and documentation oriented and not casework oriented.

As for safety I don't know statistics on it. They don't publicize incidents, not even within the agency nor by the union, which is in reality a supervisor's union that collects dues from caseworkers.

Perhaps it's because I'm a bit nuts that I don't feel fear when I go out into the field. After all I grew up in public housing and drove taxi at night full time for a dozen years. Maybe I enjoy the edge a bit. I don't think most of my co workers feel fear. I think many of us come from and live in the neighborhoods we work in and try to serve.

The reality is that if you are not looking to become a supervisor or a manager you probably will spend a couple or three years and then move on to something else. You'll need to get a Master of Social Work or of Public Administration or related Masters to advance. Absolutely you will have too.

I'm going to stick around for a while. If they want me out they will have to have a trial. One of the great achievements of civil service law and unionism is that as a worker I actually have a proprietary right to my job that can only be limited if I allow it or after a judicial process. In reality after I answered the disciplinary charges I felt rather strong and ready for a scrap but I got an email to my aol accoount (at home) from Commissioner Mattingly that left me feeling rather hopeless about being able to function at all at work. Then on Thursday I had a conversation with my union delegate and he confirmed that people in ACS disciplinary unit had been reading this blog. Now I welcome all readers but as far as I know there are no disciplinary charges against me regarding this blog. I fail to understand their official connection with my blog at all.

This is the unit that is charged with deciding what sort of punishment they want to recommend be given me for the purported violations I am charged with.

If there is an investigation of my blog that would be done by others, the Department of Investigation or Inspector General.

Now I am not the first one to say "I quit" and then change his mind. I expect to be working at children's services for some time to come.

Thank you for inviting me to this today. It is always an honour and a pleasure to be here, among you (at the European Parliament).

However, I must admit I believe you should have invited a Palestinian woman at my stead, because the women who suffer most from violence in my county are the Palestinian women. And I would like to dedicate my speech to Miriam R`aban and her husband Kamal, from Bet Lahiya in the Gaza strip, whose five small children were killed by Israeli soldiers while picking strawberries at the family`s strawberry field. No one will ever stand trial for this murder.

When I asked the people who invited me here why didn't they invite a Palestinian woman, the answer was that it would make the discussion too localized.

I don't know what is non-localized violence. Racism and discrimination may be theoretical concepts and universal phenomena but their impact is always local, and real. Pain is local, humiliation, sexual abuse, torture and death, are all very local, and so are the scars.

It is true, unfortunately, that the local violence inflicted on Palestinian women by the government of Israel and the Israeli army, has expanded around the globe, In fact, state violence and army violence, individual and collective violence, are the lot of Muslim women today, not only in Palestine but wherever the enlightened western world is setting its big imperialistic foot. It is violence which is hardly ever addressed and which is halfheartedly condoned by most people in Europe and in the USA.

This is because the so-called free world is afraid of the Muslim womb.

Great France of "la liberte égalite et la fraternite" is scared of little girls with head scarves. Great Jewish Israel is afraid of the Muslim womb which its ministers call a demographic threat.

Almighty America and Great Britain are infecting their respective citizens with blind fear of the Muslims, who are depicted as vile, primitive and blood-thirsty, apart from their being non-democratic, chauvinistic and mass producers of future terrorists. This in spite of the fact that the people who are destroying the world today are not Muslim. One of them is a devout Christian, one is Anglican and one is a non-devout Jew.

I have never experienced the suffering Palestinian women undergo every day, every hour, I don't know the kind of violence that turns a woman's life into constant hell. This daily physical and mental torture of women who are deprived of their basic human rights and needs of privacy and dignity, women whose homes are broken into at any moment of day and night, who are ordered at a gun-point to strip naked in front of strangers and their own children, whose houses are demolished , who are deprived of their livelihood and of any normal family life. This is not part of my personal ordeal.

But I am a victim of violence against women insofar as violence against children is actually violence against mothers. Palestinian, Iraqi, Afghan women are my sisters because we are all at the grip of the same unscrupulous criminals who call themselves leaders of the free enlightened world and in the name of this freedom and enlightenment rob us of our children.

Furthermore, Israeli, American, Italian and British mothers have been for the most part violently blinded and brainwashed to such a degree that they cannot realize their only sisters, their only allies in the world are the Muslim Palestinian, Iraqi or Afghani mothers, whose children are killed by our children or who blow themselves to pieces with our sons and daughters. They are all mind-infected by the same viruses engendered by politicians. And the viruses , though they may have various illustrious names--such as Democracy, Patriotism, God, Homeland--are all the same. They are all part of false and fake ideologies that are meant to enrich the rich and to empower the powerful.

We are all the victims of mental, psychological and cultural violence that turn us to one homogenic group of bereaved or potentially bereaved mothers. Western mothers who are taught to believe their uterus is a national asset just like they are taught to believe that the Muslim uterus is an international threat. They are educated not to cry out: `I gave him birth, I breast fed him, he is mine, and I will not let him be the one whose life is cheaper than oil, whose future is less worth than a piece of land.`

All of us are terrorized by mind-infecting education to believe all we can do is either pray for our sons to come back home or be proud of their dead bodies.

And all of us were brought up to bear all this silently, to contain our fear and frustration, to take Prozac for anxiety, but never hail Mama Courage in public. Never be real Jewish or Italian or Irish mothers.

I am a victim of state violence. My natural and civil rights as a mother have been violated and are violated because I have to fear the day my son would reach his 18th birthday and be taken away from me to be the game tool of criminals such as Sharon, Bush, Blair and their clan of blood-thirsty, oil-thirsty, land thirsty generals.

Living in the world I live in, in the state I live in, in the regime I live in, I don't dare to offer Muslim women any ideas how to change their lives. I don't want them to take off their scarves, or educate their children differently, and I will not urge them to constitute Democracies in the image of Western democracies that despise them and their kind. I just want to ask them humbly to be my sisters, to express my admiration for their perseverance and for their courage to carry on, to have children and to maintain a dignified family life in spite of the impossible conditions my world in putting them in. I want to tell them we are all bonded by the same pain, we all the victims of the same sort of violence even though they suffer much more, for they are the ones who are mistreated by my government and its army, sponsored by my taxes.

Islam in itself, like Judaism in itself and Christianity in itself, is not a threat to me or to anyone. American imperialism is, European indifference and co-operation is and Israeli racism and its cruel regime of occupation is. It is racism, educational propaganda and inculcated xenophobia that convince Israeli soldiers to order Palestinian women at gun-point, to strip in front of their children for security reasons, it is the deepest disrespect for the other that allow American soldiers to rape Iraqi women, that give license to Israeli jailers to keep young women in inhuman conditions, without necessary hygienic aids, without electricity in the winter, without clean water or clean mattresses and to separate them from their breast-fed babies and toddlers. To bar their way to hospitals, to block their way to education, to confiscate their lands, to uproot their trees and prevent them from cultivating their fields.

I cannot completely understand Palestinian women or their suffering. I don't know how I would have survived such humiliation, such disrespect from the whole world. All I know is that the voice of mothers has been suffocated for too long in this war-stricken planet. Mothers` cry is not heard because mothers are not invited to international forums such as this one. This I know and it is very little. But it is enough for me to remember these women are my sisters, and that they deserve that I should cry for them, and fight for them. And when they lose their children in strawberry fields or on filthy roads by the checkpoints, when their children are shot on their way to school by Israeli children who were educated to believe that love and compassion are race and religion dependent, the only thing I can do is stand by them and their betrayed babies, and ask what Anna Akhmatova--another mother who lived in a regime of violence against women and children--asked:

A Tale Of Two Stories

In most of the world, it is the Palestinian narrative of a dispossessed people that dominates. In the United States, however, the narrative that dominates is Israel's: a democracy under constant siege. Europeans and other Palestinian partisans point to the fact that the Israel lobby in America is one of the strongest anywhere, and Jewish individuals and organizations give millions of dollars to political candidates in order to reward pro-Israel policies and punish those who support the Palestinians. Another reason, however, is the near-complete domination by pro-Israel partisans of the punditocracy discourse. Some Jewish groups in America like to harass news organizations like The Washington Post or National Public Radio for what they believe to be coverage insufficiently sympathetic to Israel?s plight. But even Ariel Sharon and Benjamin Netanyahu would not be able to complain about the level of support their actions typically receive from the members of the punditocracy.

For reasons of religion, politics, history and genuine conviction the punditocracy debate of the Middle East in America is dominated by people who cannot imagine criticizing Israel. The value of this legion to the Jewish state is, for better or worse, literally incalculable, particularly when push ? as it inevitably does in the Middle East ? comes to shove. Here?s a list I made in trying to measure the immeasurable.

Press Release-NYC Child Protective Veteran Urges Marijuana Decriminalization

Eugene Weixel, a New York child abuse investigator with over ten years experience urged the decriminalization or legalization of possession of small amounts of marijuana yesterday on his web log.

Eugene Weixel, a long time child abuse investigator with
New York City's Emergency Children's Services called for
the legalization or decriminalization of possession of small amounts of marijuana yesterday. Citing personal
experiences and the opinions of various experts as well
as public opinion polls and a voter referendum in Denver,
Colorado Weixel said:
"I do not advocate marijuana use. I do advocate that
people not be imprisoned and not have their children
taken from them simply for the use of marijuana. Let's
free the hundreds of thousands of marijuana prisoners."

Weixel cited the opinions of experts Ken Larsen, adjunct professor at the Huntsman Cancer Institute,and Sheriff Richard Mack, former undercover narcotics officer and sheriff of Graham County, Arizona and the opinions of the Canadian Senate, and the governments of Switzerland and Belgium.

Weixel spoke of his own experience removing children from their parents because they smoked marijuana and a court case in Texas involving the same issue.

In 2003 Belgium legalized most marijuana use. A statement said:

Belgium will not follow the Dutch model and allow for the open sales of marijuana. Belgian authorities did, however, note that their citizens could travel to the Netherlands to procure the herb. Belgians who want to obtain marijuana could "grow it for yourself or buy it in the Netherlands," said Consumer Affairs and Health Ministry spokesman Paul Geerts.

The move comes nearly two years after the Belgian parliament formally called on prosecutors and judges to "no longer interfere in the lives of people who use cannabis on a personal basis and who do not create harm or do not show dependence."

Marijuana trafficking, public use of marijuana, and use in the presence of a minor will continue to be prosecuted. "This is a policy that is being followed in many of the countries in the European Union," said Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt. "We are not penalizing individual users of cannabis, but we are concentrating on production, distribution or problematic use."

Associated Press Erases Image of Israeli Soldier Shooting Palestinian Boy

In the midst of journalism’s “Sunshine Week” – during which the Associated Press and other news organizations are valiantly proclaiming the public’s “right to know” – AP insists on conducting its own activities in the dark, and refuses to answer even the simplest questions about its system of international news reporting.

Most of all, it refuses to explain why it erased footage of an Israeli soldier intentionally shooting a Palestinian boy.

AP, according to its website, is the world’s oldest and largest news organization. It is the behemoth of news reporting, providing what its editors determine is the news to a billion people each day. Through its feeds to thousands of newspapers, radio and television stations, AP is a major determinant in what Americans read, hear and see – and what they don’t.
